Summary: Woody Allen stars in this fictional documentary about the life of human chameleon Leonard Zelig, a man who became a celebrity in the 1920s due to his ability to look and act like whoever was around him – due to his weak personality and neurotic need to be liked. Through the use of doctored photos and staged black and white footage – matched with authentic newsreels and stock footage of the period, Allen is seen intermingling with everyone from Woodrow Wilson, Babe Ruth, the Hearst crowd at San Simeon, Eugene O’Neill, Fanny Brice and Pope Pius XI. Also starring Mia Farrow as Dr. Eudora Fletcher, Zelig’s psychiatrist.
