The Newcastle Film Society is 'Membership Only’ meaning you pay an annual membership to join which gives you access to all films screened during the year.

• Screenings are only for persons who are a current member of the NFS.
• Membership is payable in advance.
• Membership is not transferable.
• You must show your membership card to one of the committee members on the door prior to entering the screening theatre. You may be asked to provide identification.
• Lost memberships cards will not be replaced and should you attend without your card a committee member will have a membership list to verify your membership.
• Any request for a refund or membership transferred to the next year will be considered on an individual basis.
• Members must respect and comply with the rules and admittance requirements of Event Cinemas.

Seating is Not Guaranteed

The Newcastle Film Society is oversubscribed. Event Cinema’s Kotara Vmax seating capacity is 473 and we currently have a membership of 630 financial members.

Over many years we have been monitoring the attendance rate on screening nights and although we have never exceeded our seating capacity, a seat cannot be guaranteed at a film should every member turn up.
