To accompany our book‑to‑film screenings, we’re hosting a relaxed Book Club open to everyone in the community. Each time we show a literary adaptation, we meet the following week at 6pm in Event’s Gold Class Lounge for an open conversation about the book, the film, and everything in between.

Come along whether you’ve read the book, seen the film, or are simply curious.

The book adaptations screening this year are:

• Nuremberg adapted from Jack El-Hai's 2013 nonfiction book called The Nazi and the Psychiatrist. Book club held 6pm 3 May.
• Hamnet adapted from Maggie O'Farrell's 2020 historical fiction novel. Book club held 6pm 5 July.
• The History of Sound adapted from Ben Shattuck’s 2025 collection of 12 stories. Book club held 6pm 13 September.
• Orwell 2+2=5. Our Orwell Book Club is your chance to unpack Animal Farm, 1984, Wifedom and everything in between. Book club held 6pm 18 October.
• The Stranger based on the classic 1942 existentialist novel of the same name by Albert Camus. Book club held 6pm 15 November
